Making an Impact

We are so proud Edmontonians, especially now! We love seeing all the ways that so many members of our community are stepping up to help make an impact in areas that are in need during this time. While we don't have our own charitable initiative running right now we wanted to share the spotlight with a round-up of others in our community doing great things, especially with Mother's Day coming up. Why not make a gift for Mom go a bit farther?

Lianne Charlene Creative - United Way Fundraiser

Lianne is the amazing designer that has helped us bring all of our Chocolate Calendars to life. She does a brilliant job of turning our sometimes random ideas into something truly wonderful and beautiful. Together, with her designer Chelsea they've created a series of designs available on shirts, mugs, and even tote bags, to help raise funds for the United Way Local Love in a Global Crisis Campaign. All profits from the sale of these items will be donated and the campaign is also a part of Alberta's donation matching program where the organization's administration fees are waived.

So Pretty Cara Cotter - WIN House Edmonton

So Pretty Cara Cotter is already an inspiring champion for giving back within the community, and to top it off they have gorgeous pieces perfect for gifting. For Mother's Day, they've partnered with WIN House Edmonton to donate $25 from every $125 purchase from April 26 until May 2. WIN House Edmonton focuses on providing a safe place and emergency services for women and children fleeing domestic abuse.

Justine Ma - YWCA of Edmonton

Make a donation in your mom's name by May 1 and the YWCA will send her a note in a beautiful Justine Ma designed card to let her know of the generous gift. The proceeds will go on to support the organizations COVID-19 Response Fund including affordable counselling services to assist with the rising need for mental health support.

Poppy Barley - Canadian Women's Foundation

From April 28 - May 9 Poppy Barley will be donating 15% of proceeds from their Mother's Day Collection to the Canadian Women's Foundation Tireless Together Fund to provide critical support to vulnerable women and girls across Canada during the COVID-19 crisis.

Thinking of including a donation as part of your Mother's Day gift? Here are a few other organizations that are doing great things for our local community.
