Thank you to everyone who has purchased chocolate and supported Violet Chocolate over the past 11 years. It has been an incredible privilege to have connected with you all through my love of chocolate.
I have procrastinated for weeks on writing this, and I’m still not sure I have the right words for this. How do you say goodbye to something that is such a huge part of you? Violet Chocolate was the dream of a girl in her early 20s that became so much more than I could have expected. It has been a part of every milestone in my life for the past 11 years, from favours at my bridal shower, wedding favours, and a special bar to celebrate the birth of my son. I have grown up with this company, my first “baby”. I’ve also had the pleasure of making chocolate for so many special events in your lives. Creating chocolates to celebrate these moments with you has been an honour.
For seven of the past 11 years, I’ve also been incredibly lucky to tackle this journey with my best friend, Maryanne. The skills and expertise she brought when she joined the team helped shape Violet Chocolate into an even better version of itself. She took a chance on me, leaving the corporate world behind to come work for a small start-up, and I will forever be grateful. Her passion, perspective, and creativity brought new life into the company and helped create the perfect dynamic for us over the years.
So once again, thank you for all your support over the years. The last three years have been incredibly difficult. The challenges have been endless, from shutdowns and lost suppliers to rising food costs. Every purchase, market visit, and engagement on social media has meant the world to us. We hope you enjoy our last collection, made up of some of our favourite flavours over the years and created as a love letter to our customers and the company. It truly has been an absolute pleasure creating unique flavours for you over the years.
While this decision was incredibly difficult, I know in my heart it is time to say goodbye. So, while we don't have a set end date, we will be wrapping things up over the next couple of months. Maryanne and I are looking forward to slowing down over the summer months and soaking up all the time we can with our little ones. While we're not sure what the future holds, we do know that this company and you, our chocolate family, have profoundly impacted who we have become over the last decade and a bit.
